About the Course
The Quran Reading Basics course is perfect for those who have little to no experience with Arabic script. Our qualified female teachers will guide you step by step through: • Recognizing and pronouncing Arabic letters correctly • Understanding the different shapes of letters in various positions • Learning diacritical marks (harakat) and their effects • Connecting letters to form words • Reading short verses and Surahs with proper pronunciation By the end of this course, you will be able to read the Quran independently with confidence.
Course Curriculum
Month 1
Foundation & Letter Recognition
- Mukharij (Articulation Points): Identifying where each letter originates
- Basic Pronunciation: Mastering heavy and light letters
- Letter Connections: Understanding letter shapes in different positions
- Short Vowels (Harakat): Introduction to Fatha, Kasra, and Damma
Month 2
Tajweed Fundamentals
- Rules of Noon Sakinah & Tanween: Izhaar, Idghaam, Iqlab, Ikhfa
- Rules of Meem Sakinah: Understanding silent Meem
- Sukoon & Shaddah: Mastering silent marks and emphasis
- Practice with Short Surahs: Applying learned rules
Month 3
Advanced Rules & Fluency
- Madd Rules: Learning elongation (2, 4, or 6 counts)
- Al-Qalqalah: Mastering echoing sounds
- Rules of Hamzatul Wasl: Understanding connecting Hamza
- Stopping Signs (Waqf): Where to pause and continue
- Final Assessment: Practical recitation of Juz Amma
